ChatGPT for finance bundles the data with the work

Developed with Morgan Stanley and Evercore, the initial product focuses on investment banking and equity research. It includes data from providers such as Daloopa, PitchBook, LSEG News, and Crunchbase, indexed and hosted by OpenAI.

The source links go down to specific tables and passages, so an analyst can inspect the evidence behind a number. Administrators can also supply the firm’s Excel, Word, and PowerPoint templates for valuation models, research notes, and pitchbooks.

Included datasets and existing subscriptions remain distinct. OpenAI is separately working on entitlement integrations that let firms use data they already license from providers such as S&P, LSEG, MSCI, Factiva, and Moody’s.

The release also describes role-based access, configurable retention, supported log exports, and separate workspaces for information barriers. The product is available to eligible financial institutions. These controls and data arrangements are a substantial part of what turns a general model into a specific professional service.
