Astra for ambitious projects, Fable for many conversations

Astra stands out in Zvi Mowshowitz’s review for ambitious projects, 3D work, games, computer use and coordinating subagents. He sees a larger jump from Sol to Astra than from Fable 5 to 5.1.

Yet Fable remains his main editor and his preference for many conversations. For difficult questions, he recommends asking both and comparing the answers.

He also objects to benchmark comparisons that change the agent environment along with the model. Better tools or a better harness can raise a score, making it harder to isolate the contribution of model training. The review combines hands-on use, reported experiences and benchmarks; its recommendations depend on the kind of work being attempted.
