Nvidia reportedly discusses a Perplexity investment above $30 billion

Nvidia was discussing an investment valuing Perplexity above $30 billion, Reuters reported, citing The Information. The account linked revenue growth to Perplexity Computer and put annualized revenue above $750 million.

These were investment talks, not a completed transaction. Annualized revenue is a run rate, not audited revenue earned over a full year.

An agent product sits between a customer’s task and the models used to execute it. That can make distribution valuable even when the product relies on several upstream suppliers. Its margins still depend on the cost of completing the work, including tool calls, retries and unusually expensive tasks.
