Nvidia reportedly develops a trillion-parameter Nemotron 4 model

Nvidia was developing Nemotron 4 models, including a version with at least a trillion parameters, Reuters reported, relaying The Information. Training was not complete and the release timetable remained uncertain. Nvidia acknowledged development work without confirming every reported specification.

An open model can complement Nvidia’s infrastructure business: customers who obtain model weights still need compute and software to serve them. But parameter count alone does not establish a useful alternative to a hosted API.

Deployment costs, task quality, latency and licensing would determine whether enterprises can build durable workflows around the eventual release.
